What does a Foster Friendly Faith Community look like?

Join Tennessee Kids Belong In Supporting Foster Friendly Month This May

40% of foster parents stop fostering within the first year. One of the most often-cited reasons is lack of community support.

Your faith community can play a valuable role in changing the

experience and outcomes for kids and families in foster and kinship care.

Here are three best practices to becoming a Foster Friendly Faith Community. You only need to choose two to get started.

Tennessee Kids Belong launched the Foster Friendly app in 2019, making it easy for foster families to connect with businesses across the state that offer discounted products and services. We recently launched the Faith Community section of the app so families can easily identify houses of worship that are aware of and sensitive to the often complex needs of caring for kids in foster care. Complete the Foster Friendly pledge above and get your faith community added to the app!

A foster family can go from 2 kids at breakfast to 5 kids at the dinner table. Nationwide, one of the leading causes of foster parent burnout is "a lack of social and community support." Your business can help change that!

Here are three ways to show your support for foster families in your community and use your business to make a difference!
